Data in this file includes

A record carries only the data that makes sense for its category (a language record has no weapon damage, an armor record has no spell list, and so on):

  • Name — The name of the item, skill, or entry.
  • Description — The prose describing it.
  • Cost — The character-point cost and experience value to acquire it.
  • Money Value — What it is worth, in platinum / gold / silver / copper — given as both the Player's Handbook and Skills & Powers valuations.
  • Weight — Its encumbrance, again in Player's Handbook and Skills & Powers values.
  • Flags — The item's properties and behaviors: whether it is a weapon, melee or missile, armor, a container, magical, wearable, needs ammunition, contains metal or silver, and the many other yes/no traits it may have.
  • Weapon Statistics — For weapons: the damage dice (against small/medium and against large targets), speed factor, rate of fire, range, and to-hit and damage adjustments.
  • Armor Statistics — For armor and shields: armor class, armor type, and shield type.
  • Container Capacity — For containers: what and how much it can hold (arrows, quarrels, swords, javelins, staves, and so on).
  • Worn Placement — For worn items: where and how the item is worn (robe, boots, hat, scabbard, quiver, gloves, …).
  • Ability Adjustments — The score modifiers the item confers, in both standard and Skills & Powers forms.
  • Class & Kit Data — For class-ability and character-kit records: hit-die and attack bonuses, weapon and armor allowances, saving-throw bonuses, and the proficiencies the kit awards.
  • Related Lists — Cross-referenced names collected in lists: related spells, weapon groups, and the races and classes that can — or cannot — use the item.
