Holds the character classes — Fighter, Mage, Cleric, Thief, and the rest — describing what each class requires of a character and how it advances.
Data in this file includes
- Name — The name of the class.
- Group — The broad category the class belongs to: Warrior, Rogue, Priest, Wizard, or Psionicist.
- Ability Scores — The minimum and prime-requisite scores a character needs to qualify for the class, per attribute (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma). Values range 1–25.
- Character Points — The point cost and related build values for taking the class under the Skills & Powers rules.
- Level Progression — Per-level tables describing how the class advances: experience required for each level, attack rolls (THAC0), attacks per round, and armor class by level.
- Hit Dice — The die type, maximum, and bonuses used to roll the class's hit points as it gains levels.
- Spellcasting — How many spells of each level the class can cast at each of its levels (both the standard and the alternative progressions), and which spell types it may access.
- Proficiencies — Starting weapon and non-weapon proficiency slots, the cost of additional ones, and how often new slots are earned.
- Allowances — What the class permits: usable weapons and armor, allowed alignments and magic items, and — for priests — the spell spheres and schools it can draw on.
- Restrictions — What the class forbids: banned wizard schools, banned kits, and priest spells it cannot cast.
- Saving Throws — The class's saving-throw values as it advances in level.
- Class Abilities — The special abilities the class grants and the levels at which they are gained.
- Screen Text — The descriptive and help text shown for the class (its inventory, proficiency, weapon, and language prompts).
- Description — The prose description of the class.
